PEAPAC Recommends: NO

Complex collective bargaining matters should be left to elected officials, not the general electorate.

Summary

Changes collective bargaining rules for police, fire, and other public safety employees.

Biblical Reasoning

Unlike the clarity of the other two Measures concerning public employees, (#41, #45) this Measure asks the electorate to engage in complex matters of collective bargaining. This seems beyond the ability or scope of most of us, and we therefore believe this matter should be left to our elected officials.

Deuteronomy 16:18 — “Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.”
