PEAPAC Explanation: Oregon’s public universities strive to manage their money in the best way possible. Their goal is to reduce risk and increase returns. These revenues are then used to fund their core educational mission. They are currently prohibited from investing in company stocks and other equities.

This Measure would remove this restriction, making available one more tool in their effort to wisely use their reserve funds. This would also result in more investment in businesses seeking to grow and serve the economy. God in the Bible affirms the development of businesses and investing for profit. See for instance Matthew 25:14-30, where the servant who hoarded his talent rather than investing it was rebuked. We thus urge a Yes vote on this Measure.
