About Dennis Tuuri

Pastor, Teacher, Advocate

Dennis Tuuri has served as a pastor and Bible teacher for over four decades, with a particular focus on expository preaching, biblical theology of work and rest, and equipping Christians for faithful living in every sphere of life.

Ministry Background

Dennis served as a pastor at Christ Church in various capacities over many years, preaching through books of the Bible and developing teaching series on topics including work, community, family, and civic engagement.

His sermon archive includes hundreds of messages spanning the Old and New Testaments, with particular depth in James, Colossians, the Psalms, and the wisdom literature.

Homeschool Advocacy

Dennis was instrumental in the early homeschool movement in Oregon, helping to establish legal protections and support networks for homeschooling families during a time when the practice faced significant opposition.

Writing

Dennis is the author of a forthcoming book on the Christian Sabbath, examining the theology, history, and practice of Lord’s Day observance from a Reformed perspective. Chapters are being published on this site as they are completed.

Family

Dennis and his wife have been married for many years and have raised their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. He is now blessed with grandchildren and continues to teach and write in retirement.

I’m Dennis Tuuri

I’ve been a pastor and Bible teacher for over forty years. My passion is helping Christians think biblically about all of life — work, rest, family, community, and our responsibilities as citizens.

This site is a home for my teaching: sermons spanning decades of expository preaching, a book on the Christian Sabbath, and voter guides for faithful civic engagement.

Thanks for visiting. I hope these resources are a blessing to you.
