Summary
Changes judicial elections from statewide to geographic districts.
Biblical Reasoning
In the Bible, power is balanced between geographic and population districts (Numbers 10:2- 4). This biblical pattern lies behind our two national Legislative bodies: Population based districts elect The House, while the Senate is elected by geographic districts (states).
This measure would bring a degree of balance to our highest judicial branches of state government by making judges more accountable to a particular geographic portion of the population. God is triune, one God in three persons. This unity and diversity should be mirrored in our governmental institutions. In God is liberty, and governmental structures that are both diverse and unified are best equipped to bring liberty. We support Measure 22 as a sound recasting of old Biblical principles.
Election Results
Voters rejected electing judges by district (51% No).

Measure 22, a companion to Measure 21, would make judges more accountable to a geographic district, so you might actually know who these judges are! Plus, we’d see fewer decisions that are unjustly skewed to the interests of large population blocks, such as the liberal Portland metro area.
