PEAPAC Recommends: YES

Eliminates double taxation; God’s tax (tithe) is on actual increase, not money paid to other governments.

Summary

Creates an unlimited deduction for federal income taxes on Oregon tax returns.

Biblical Reasoning

In the Bible, the tithe is God’s “tax” of ten percent (Lev. 27:30, 32) . It was paid on increase that was actually received from one’s labor. From that ten percent, some went to national leaders and the rest to local ones (Neh. 10:38) . God is a gracious taxer. Oregon is not so gracious. It imposes taxes on money that never makes it to your pocket, and instead goes to the IRS. This double taxation is wrong

This double taxation is wrong, and we urge your Yes vote on Measure 59.
